Another week is going by. I just want to remind anyone reading about Bloglines where you can subscribe to RSS feeds of just about anything including this blog. I like the way Bloglines works. It is easy and quick to subscribe or unsubscribe. It convening lists all your subs with the number of new items and you can just click on what you want to read. I also appreciate that it went out and picked up my fav icon to place next to my listing. Try Bloglines for yourself.

I see that Itunes has a featured single each week that is FREE for download. My problem is that they don't allow you to sign up if you are not in the US of A. There should be a LARGE disclaimer on the site so people don't waste their time.

I have often seen the colourful little blobs on the web from people using Sitemeter.com counters. On Friday I was reading someone's post (sorry I can't remember where) about how little it took to get into Truthlaidbear's traffic ranking. I signed up at sitemeter and placed the blob on my page and sure enough I made the list with 2 (yes that is two) views. One of those two was me!!!! I have to check out who the other was. It was a far cry from the top where over one hundred thousand was the number to get into the top ten. I know I will never see that, but it is nice to get into any list when you are a lazy blogger like me!

Any way, the main thrust of this is a plug for Sitemeter.com and their free service. I just may ante up for the premium service to make sure they stay around.

If you have a Blogger account, there is an invitation on the main screen when you log in to sign up for GMAIL, Google's new service that offers a 1000 megabytes of storage and Google's famous search routines for your stored messages. While they promise no pop-up ads, they will place "relevant" text, based on your emails content, and money paid by advertisers, on the screen. I know there is a lot of controversy about privacy but I can't understand why. If you have concerns about privacy don't sign on. If Google can find exciting secrets about my life from my emails then I would like to know!

I can't believe how time goes by so fast without me noticing. I posted on Monday and now it Friday and I suddenly realize that I have missed all the days in between. Not that anything extraordinary has been happening. Just the normal routine of life. Mostly it is so routine that I am sure everyone else would say boooooring. I quite like life being boring. I am getting to the age that anything out of the ordinary upsets me. Guess that's bad to some extent but that is how it is. I won't bore you any more today. Hopefully there will be something (that I think is) interesting so there will be some activity here in the near future. Have a great weekend.

I missed this when it got Slashdotted at the beginning of April. Newsmap is a great concept. Marcos Weskamp and Dan Albritton have created Newsmap, an extremely cool way of visualizing news stories. The site takes the aggregated content from Google news (globally) and maps it out into a visual space. That way, you get an immediate feel for news patterns. At the site they say, "Newsmap does not pretend to replace the googlenews aggregator. It's objective is to simply demonstrate visually the relationships between data and the unseen patterns in news media. It is not thought to display an unbiased view of the news, on the contrary it is thought to ironically accentuate the bias of it." Try out Newsmap and see what you think.

If you have birthdays regularly you may want to check out the AGE page and enter your birthday and see a list of various famous people you are older or younger then. If you are into movies then try the Movies to get only movie stars or try TV to stack yourself up to some TV stars. Myself, I'm going to stop having birthdays and just stick with my mental age of FOUR!

I got a good chuckle from todays paper when I read the the Swede who started IKEA is now richer then Bill Gates. Supposedly he is worth 53 Billion and poor BIll now has only 47 Billion. This was, I suppose, only because the US dollar has fallen so much in the last year. Bill better talk to Greenspan about this!

Wow, it's April. I was away a lot longer then I had planned. I was going to post yesterday but with April 1st being the day to play games with peoples minds I decided just to browse the web and see what everyone else was doing. There were lots of great tricks out there. The only thing I wondered and many others did as well, was whether Google's GMail was a hoax or real. Seems to be real.

It's been a while so I also want to hype Cactusguy and Cactusgal again. Check out Cactusgal in her Easter bonnet and Cactusguy surfing!
