Another new toy from Goole to make sure you never do any work at work: Google Earth.
Google Earth puts a planet's worth of imagery and other geographic information right on your desktop. View exotic locales like Maui and Paris as well as points of interest such as local restaurants, hospitals, schools, and more. A free download and your in business.

PS..Thanks Raju for noting that Gmailharddrive.com is becoming
Xmailharddrive.com. Still wondering if Google will put them out of business completely.

For some old fashioned Friday fun check out the Evil Backwards Song Lyrics.
Jeff Milner has compiled a set of songs lyrics, from the traditionally Stairway to Heaven, which everyone knows is satanic when played backwards, to John Lennon and Weird Al.
The snippets are great and the laugh factor is worth a visit.

If you ever wake up in a total fog and can't remember the date check out this site. They are fixated on November so the emphasis is on the countdown, but for us poor souls they tell us what today is so we also can clear our mind and figure out how long where have been unconscious.

It's tough to get motivated and post on a regular basis. There are so many sites out in the websphere where great info is available. I have become addicted to Bloglines and have a big group of blogs in my list. It really does make life easy as only the new postings are highlighted for me.
For now I will try to put out things that interest me, but that takes more these days then it used to do. If you are tired of checking here and not finding anything why not use Bloglines to subscribe and easily see when there is something new.

Checking out trendalicious today I see that Gmail Hard Drive is a big trend. I hadn't heard of this one but it looks very similar to some PHP scripts that created gMail Drive. Anyone can use the gMail Drive link here. I don't know who is behind Gmail Hard Drive but I know that the gMail Drive site is safe. No gmail address or password is kept. I tried using both and they co-exist quite nicely. gMail drive uploads files as attachments with a GD attached to the file name. Gmail hard drive does the same thing but appends GMHD to the file name. Because of this one system can't use the files of the other. The nice thing about gMail Drive is that I can easily email the uploaded file to anyone (as long as their email provider allows files of whatever size you have). Until Google decides to stop this I now have two ways to upload/download files to my 2MG gmail account.

Found on MikeBoon.com and slightly modified....

FirefoxDestroying Those Mutant Popups
I read "Get Fuzzy" every day. A little while ago, the United Media site that hosts this comic started using annoying mutant popups that manage to outwit Firefox's popup blocker. I hadn't seen a popup since I switched to Firefox almost a year ago and this new breed of popup was really starting to annoy me.

It turns out it's really easy to configure Firefox to block these too. This fix is stolen from here and works like a charm.

To block pop-ups from plugins, open your Firefox 1.0 or 1.0.1 browser, type about:config in the address field. Right-click in the resulting config page somewhere and select New -> Interger. Type privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins in the resulting dialog, hit OK, type 2 in the next dialog and you're all set.
