Weekly MP3 share Another share of one of my MP3s. I set up a new one once a week and give you seven days to check it out. After that it will be gone and replaced by a new selection. Please don't link to this. Just click on the link and save it. For this week:

OUTKAST "I Like the Way You Move"

I heard this in a store, I was in recently. It was playing in the background on their Muzac system. It stuck in my head and I just had post it here to see if I could infect the rest of the population. This was a big hit for Outkast and won them a lot of awards. Hope you enjoy it.

A little dirt, a little water, and some Friday Fun.

A shiny dorodango Will this be the next craze? There was an interesting article at Kottke talking about Shiny Dorodangos. Shiny Dorodangos are evidently shiny balls of dried mud Japanese school children have fallen in love with making.

Should you want to make your own, the article also included instructions, which are mirrored here, so Enjoy:

How to Make a Shiny Dorodango

  1. Pack some mud into your hand, and squeeze out the water while forming a sphere.
  2. Add some dry dirt to the outside and continue to gently shape the mud into a sphere.
  3. When the mass dries, pack it solid with your hands, and rub the surface until a smooth film begins to appear.
  4. Rub your hands against the ground, patting and rubbing the fine, powdery dirt onto the sphere. Continue this for two hours.
  5. Seal the ball in a plastic bag for three or four hours. Upon removing the sphere, repeat step 4, and then once again seal the sphere in a plastic bag.
  6. Remove the ball from the bag, and if it is no longer wet, polish it with a cloth until it shines.

ODDS "Someone Who Is Cool"

Back to a great Canadian album by ODDS, the track is "Someone Who is Cool". This 1996 release is classic ODDS, every song is great. I just love this cut, with "it was the suit that got me the GIG". It's all the exterior that defines our personna to the world. It's just a facade and no one knows what is really inside. So just look like someone who is cool, and you are. Hope you enjoy this one.

This little application seems just right to keep a secure note with sensitive data, like passwords and URL's. I've created a copy on my thumbdrive to take with me. Steganos LockNote will change the way you work with confidential notes. Application and document in one: the mechanism to encrypt and decrypt a note is part of it. Secure, simple, independent. No installation required. It's free.

Flickr is a great place to keep your photos. Since Yahoo took over it seems to be a stable. Now why don't you check out fd's Flickr Toys. fd stands for Flagrant Disregard and on this page they have collected a lot of toys to use with your photos and with Flickr. Make a stream of your pictures. Make a magazine cover, or just frame a picture. Make a calendar. There are just too many to list. Check it out and have some fun.

John Meyer "Your Body's a Wonderland"

Last week I started with "A new year and a new beginning". This week is something new too. I have to date only posted Canadian songs and artists. I kept looking at all the material I have and from time to time thought about posting one of them. Then I'd go back and pick a Canadian one. This week I said, what the hey, eh!! Go for it. Then I had this terrible thought, how do I pick one? Well the old pile them on the floor, close the eyes, and pick something was the choice. And this is it. The award goes to John Meyer. An ode to all the beautiful women out there. From one of his live performances, "Your Body is a Wonderland". Enjoy.

Something that may come in handy someday is UNSTOPPABLE COPIER. This programs may recover files from disks with physical damage. It allows you to copy files from disks with problems such as bad sectors, scratches or that just give errors when reading data. The program will attempt to recover every readable piece of a file and put the pieces together. Using this method most types of files can be made useable even if some parts were not recoverable in the end. And its free....CHECK IT OUT!

Neil Young's "Prairie Wind"

A new year and a new beginning. To celebrate I've uploaded Neil Young's title song from his 2005 album Prairie Wind. This is a class album, that every collection should have. I've always been a big fan of Neil, as my regular readers know. I think by now most of his existing fans have this album. If you don't then why not? Check out this track and get to know what you are missing.

No Music this week but try out this neat Falling Sand game to keep you occupied till next week. It may take a little while to download since it is a Java game, but it is really interesting! A highly addictive Zen-Garden-like game where you control flow of sand, water, salt, and oil by drawing walls, plants, sprouts, cera (wax).
