Weekly MP3 share Another share of one of my MP3s. I set up a new one once a week and give you seven days to check it out. After that it will be gone and replaced by a new selection. Please don't link to this. Just click on the link and save it. For this week:

Von Bondies "C’mon C’mon"

Not a Canadian band, but since they are from Detroit, and Detroit is a suburb of Windsor, the Von Bondies are close enough. This group made a big hit in the UK, and are doing well with the "Pawn Shoppe Heart" album. From there here is this weeks offering: "C’mon C’mon".

Google Finance it got a pan at GigaOM and on CNBC. I must agree that it needs a lot of work to get up to Yahoo Finance standard.

Meanwhile PAYPAL is going mobile! Check out the info at mobilecrunch.

SyncToy v1.1 for Windows XP
Download Arrow  Download SyncToy

SyncToy v1.1 is available as a free download on the Microsoft Download Center. SyncToy is a free PowerToy for Microsoft Windows XP. It is an easy to use, highly customizable program that helps users to do the heavy lifting involved with the copying, moving, and synchronization of different directories. Most common operations can be performed with just a few clicks of the mouse, and additional customization is available without added complexity. SyncToy can manage multiple sets of folders at the same time; it can combine files from two folders in one case, and mimic renames and deletes in another. Unlike other applications, SyncToy actually keeps track of renames to files and will make sure those changes get carried over to the synchronized folder.

View the SyncToy White Paper - The white paper provides an overview of SyncToy, and explains how it can be used to enhance your file management workflow.

Mood Ruff "Rocketship"

As I said before, Hip Hop is not my most favorite. With a rap song winning the Oscar and the hype these days, I though I should present a song I do really like from a group based in Toronto.
From their website the description is: The members of Mood Ruff are Odario, Spitz, ICQRI and Breakz. They share roles as Emcee, B-Boy, DJ and Graf Artist. Representing Peg City, these 'brothers from different mothers' make classy hip hop filled with fine malt lyrics, butter beats and off the wall tactics.
From the 2005 album "I Do My Own Stunts", enjoy "Rocketship".

Tragically Hip "Bobcaygen"
I had to include another classic from THE HIP! This is an example of how the group pulls Canadian history, Canadian geography, and melds it into powerful lyrics and beautiful music. This is from the album "Phantom Power".  Another one I really like.  As if anything by THE HIP wouldn’t be something I like.  Hopefully you do too.

I like the Simpsons, but I only watch occasionally. I enjoy the current affairs shows on PBS and TVO. But I digress. Check this out. Someone did a lot of work to film a real life Simpsons intro.

Here it is:

Then once you checked that out don’t forget to visit my most favorite on-line cartoon: HomeStarRunner. I don't know why, but I just enjoy Homestarrunner's Strongbad Emails a lot.

The Servant "Liquify"

The world is a strange place. Last year, if you were in France, you couldn't go more then five minutes, without hearing this song on the radio or in a TV video. The Servant is a British band, that has been operating on the fringes of London rock underground for several years. For some reason this tune hit the top in Europe, especially France, for several months last summer. For such a big hit, it never crossed the water, and I'm sure no one in North America was aware of it. Maybe someone will hear it here and the world will change!

Box.net is a virtual storage space for your computer files. They have packages starting at $4.99 per month for 5GB, but you can sign up for a 1GB free account. There are limitations on the size of uploads for the free account (5MB max per file up to the 1GB limit), but you can still have enough space to hold documents, photos, and some music files. Try it out if you need a liitle extra space.
