Ready for another social bookmarking site? StumbleUpon is another one of the sites trying to gather people together to post links to items they have found interesting (kind of like del.icio.us, with a touch of Digg). It helps you discover other great websites. With a single click you can find and share cool sites matched to your interests. It is worth a check, but if you just want some Friday Fun, go to the animation and have fun with the character. Click on her with your mouse and see what fun you can have.

Fresh from Google Calendar: you can now publish a calendar on your web site for viewing by anyone (not just GCal users.)
From the Settings section of a calendar, hit up the HTML button to get a Javascript for including into your site's pages. The Gcal HTML configuration tool customizes width, height, background color, title and other display settings. Except for the self-promoting Google Cal logo, this is fantastic for any site with upcoming events to announce.
Check out an example at one of our our favorites, CactusGal.
Then check out the Event Publisher Guide at Google Calendar. Google calendars, Google spreadsheets, and soon Gbuy. Where will it end?

For an interesting take on life try a different kind of translator at ReGender.com.
  • What would the world look like if the two sexes switched places?
  • What would it look like if English had genderless pronouns?
  • What would it look like if English identified races the way it identifies gender?

The offer of free downloads at IN PICTURES has been extended to August 1st, 2006.
All computer how-to books in the In Pictures series are being provided free to the public, as downloadable files. Anyone who visits In Pictures' Web site at inpics.net can download any and all of its 22 different books for free, in Adobe PDF format. In Pictures books aren't restricted by a digital rights management system. In fact, they're free to copy and share, something that In Pictures encourages. The books' Creative Commons license only prohibits readers from selling or changing them without permission. After August 1st they will offer a "free book of the month" for download.
Most of these books are very basic instruction manuls on how to get started. While most people reading this won't be interested, they would make a great gift to send to Aunt Sally, who keeps calling about how to use WORD or EXCEL. You can send Grandma the one on HTML so she can get the web page she's always wanted up and running.

Joel Plaskett
"Nowhere With You"

From the DVD
Make a Little Noise

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that Joel Plaskett's song "Nowhere With You" was the sound track on the newest Zeller's commercial. It has been released only on DVD to date. The duel disc "Make a Little Noise" DVD has it but no CD, to my knowledge. So here it is in case you want to see a sample of what is on the DVD release.

Desktop Graffitist is a small program that enables you to spray paint your desktop, and anything else that might appear on screen. DG is designed for recreation and creativity, and can be used to relieve office stress and boredom. Aside from the added bonus of allowing you to vent on that stupid monthly report or the latest homework assignment, the program is also good for leaving messages on other people's computers that they can't miss (love notes, hate notes, grocery lists, and art/vandalism et cetera). Go There!

And now Ebay is offering Ebay BLOGS! Guess everybody is getting into the act. If you have an Ebay id then you can have a free blog.

I never thought about what the high level domain was for Switzerland. Then I saw the cute name of Krun.ch and had to check. It made an amusing moment and might be of some use too.
Krun.ch is a simple tool that simplifies the process of compressing and sending your files online. Krun.ch isn't a replacement for the traditional desktop compression tools, but its just a tool that makes things easier by cutting down all the 'krunching' hassles!
