"Return to Cookie Mountain" is the sophomore LP for "TV on the Radio". I was a bit taken aback by this album. It took several plays to warm up to the sounds produced by this Bronx group. The main song, you may possibly hear, is "I was a Lover". I decided to share "Snakes and Martyrs" with you. It is a small intro to what the rest of the songs are like. If you like this you might warm up to the rest of the album as I did. The group is definitely unique. Rod Stewart has a new release of "Great Rock Classics". Not bad if you like Rod Stewart. I decided to share one of his older tunes from his "Best Of" album, "You're In My Heart". Will these oldsters never go away? I can envision Rod and Mick on stage in their wheelchairs and with medical attendents 20 years from now. Back to being influenced by commercials. The Snitches "Right Before My Eyes", from their 2002 album, has been featured in a commercial here in Canada. I keep getting the hook in my mind and keep it there long after the commercial is over. So I thought I'd inflict this on anyone dropping by here this week. Enjoy. Skip at 7:11 AM Have some fun with the On Line Alarm. You can set it and let it go off when you need it. You can select the size, colour, and alarm time. Don't know why I would use it but it's handy to know it exists. Have Fun. Skip at 7:29 AM WorldCat is the largest library network in the world. A bit of a change this week with an selection from the 1989 album of Chris Isaak called "Heart Shaped World". I got to really got to like Chris when his show was playing on MTV Canada. I loved the naked lady rotating for some reason in the little room off stage. Chris always used her to get cryptic advice on whatever the show was about that week. In between he did some great tunes with some great guest stars. Going through some clean up I ran across this album and decided to share. Happy listening. Skip at 7:11 AM I was as a loss to do anything meaningful today so I took the Muppet Test. No big suprise for me. How about you?
