What American accent do you have? (Best version so far)

Northern

You have a Northern accent. That could either be the Chicago/Detroit/Cleveland/Buffalo accent (easily recognizable) or the Western New England accent that news networks go for.

Personality Test Results

I guess this is reasonalby accurate. I got the Northenrn accent from Buffalo on the first (and honest try). I probably got most of my accent from Buffalo TV.

Mp3 Share Wilco
"Impossible Germany"

or you can try here too!

Wilco will be here in Toronto at Massey Hall this coming Saturday (June 30th). I'm sure Canada will give them a great welcome. The group has had a great start for their new album "Sky Blue Sky". I love every song on it and have been playing it over and over. I am sharing the one song, called "Impossible Germany", that is slighly different from the others on the disc but you really need to check out to whole package. Enjoy this selection, buy the CD, and visit the official Wilco site.

Recently, British food writer Anna Longmore compiled a list in Arena Magazine of the 50 foods you should try before you die. The Toronto Star's food critic Amy Pataki, distilled that down to 17. Give it a look and maybe spend the weekend having a final food fling.

FileBox enhances Windows XP (But not Vista) by adding several advanced functions to the standard Open File and Save File dialog boxes. FileBox adds two handy buttons to these standard dialogs. These appear on the right side of the Windows dialog box title bars. The buttons appear next to the minimize, restore, and maximize buttons with which you already know. FileBox can also forcibly resize the standard Windows file management dialog boxes so they're bigger, and thus easier to use if you've got lots of files in a folder through which you need to look. FileBox eXtender has a nifty option to display these buttons on Windows Explorer folders too, and this can greatly speed up navigation through today's huge hard disks. There is a lot of features that might be of interest to you and its free. Check out FileBox eXtender.

Mp3 Share Seawolf
"You're A Wolf"

or you can try here too!

Seawolf is an LA group that played at the Horseshoe Tavern here in Toronto a couple of weeks ago. Their EP "Get to the River Before It Runs Too Low" is not available from Amazon in Canada. You can get it at Amazon.com though. The song "Your're a Wolf" is the lead on the EP and sounds great. I don't know a lot about this group but it sounds like they have a future. Enjoy and check out Seawolf's myFace page.

spam.la is a nifty free service offered by DreamHost.com. It is a simple way to create throw-away e-mail addresses, for example for website registrations. Here is how it works:

  1. Use whatever@spam.la if a sign-up form forces you to enter a valid address.
  2. Any mails sent to whatever@spam.la are shown on the spam.la website.
  3. Read the confirmation mail there and get any registration codes sent by the sign-up form.
  4. Forget about the e-mail address and any spam that might be sent to it in the future.

"Don't Let Him Waste Your Time"

or you can try here too!

Jarvis Cocker is a English musician who has written lots of songs for other singers. Late last year he issued a self-titled album with this song "Don't Let Him Waste Yor Time". The song, written by Jarvis appeared on Nancy Sinatra's 2004 self-titled album. I like the authors version best. Enjoy and check out Jarvis's myFace page.

"Be Good Johnny"

or you can try here too!

I thought I'd reach back in time this week. This is from 1982, 25 years ago. Men At Work, the great Austrailian group, had this album "Business As Usual" at #1 for 15 weeks in late 1982. This selection called "Be Good Johnny", is from the remastered issue of 2003. I'm sure you recognized it if you're old enough. Enjoy.
